Hello, web traveler!
I’m Stephen T. Stone — a dude tryin’ to stay alive in a world (and a life) that isn’t exactly ideal.
For two decades, I used the screen name of “Sage Freehaven”, which was also the name of my “fursona”. (I don’t like that word, either.) I largely abandoned that moniker (and that fursona) upon my 40th birthday and have since settled on a different screen name — “Regular Mouse” — without tying it directly to a fursona or somesuch.
In the past…
I’ve dabbled in several things: I’ve drawn art and done some pixel art as well as some writing, and I’ve moderated several imageboards. Right now, I’m trying to rebuild my life from the ground up after having spent…well, the past two decades on largely fucking it up.
A combination of some form of (as of yet undiagnosed) ADHD, a lack of meatspace socializing (and the social skills to make that possible), on-and-off depression, and a sedentiary lifestyle driven by a serious case of Internet addiction (to make up for the lack of meatspace socializing) have all played a role in my being where I am today. To put it bluntly: I have more issues than a GamePro archive.
“So…what now?”
Well, I clearly have little time to waste in trying to fix all my shit, considering I’m now over 40 years old. So I’m taking some steps to reframe some mindsets and stop being online as much. Part of that comes with redoing this homepage to reflect where I am on this “mission” and encourage others to keep me from falling off the path.
I’ll still be active in the places where I’m most active now, but I’ll be less active than I have been in the past. Those places, by the way, are the Fediverse (@Stephen_Stone@chitter.xyz) and Discord (@regular_mouse). I have no active account on any other social media platform. You can also reach me via email, if necessary, at neostonehaven at gmail dot com.
As far as what I’ll be doing in the meantime…that’s still up in the air. Sticking with something long-term isn’t one of my strong suits, so I’ll be dabbling with one or two things at first to dip my toes back into creating stuff. Writing seems the most likely starting point, since I want to populate this site with more writing beyond what I’m doing with my life.
This page will be updated on a quasi-regular basis.
It will serve as a combined form of an “about” page, a “Now” page, and what used to be blog-style updates on my personal bullshit. Any significant life changes/personal updates will now be posted here in some form. Worst case scenario? You won’t see this page update for a long damn time. (I’ll try for better than that.)
